Notes from the organization

Meet Java!Java is a 4-year-old German Shepherd with a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart ready for her forever home. She’s an active, intelligent girl who thrives on engagement and adventure—especially long walks (bonus points if you let her proudly carry a toy the entire way!).Java is primarily seeking an only-dog home with shepherd experience. While she has lived with other dogs in the past, the shelter environment has affected her comfort level. If a home were to include another dog, they would need to enjoy rough-and-tumble play, respect her hind-end sensitivity, and be similar in size. When meeting new people, Java may greet you with a big, loud bark—but she has yet to meet a stranger she didn’t like, especially if they offer treats and explore the outdoors with her.Java came to us experiencing urinary incontinence, and we’ve been working closely with our veterinary team to support her every step of the way. After months of appointments, consultations, and referrals, we now have a plan in place. She is scheduled for a specialist consult in August, and the current recommendation is a corrective procedure to address the underlying cause of her incontinence. We're hopeful it will allow her to go on to live a normal life, though she may still require medication as part of her long-term management. The good news? Java isn’t constantly leaking, and her incontinence isn't her fault. More frequent bathroom breaks or pee pads on her dog beds help manage it.We are committed to covering Java’s veterinary care as she moves through this process and are incredibly grateful for the support of our community in making that possible.Java may need a little extra help, but more than anything, she deserves to be comfortable in a home of her own.Current Weight: 80lbsAdoption fee: $250To apply: https://fcrspca.org/adopt/
