Notes from the organization

Meet Flannel! DOB: August 2024Weight: 15lbsDisposition: Sweet, Endearing, A little unsureHistory: Taken from a hoarding situation in LA County. Rescued by TBL in August 2025.TBL recently rescued a number of spaniel mixes from a hoarding situation. These dogs ranged from very social to very shy. Flannel finds himself more on the shy side of the spectrum. It is always difficult to get the shy dogs adopted. Most people want a dog they feel an instant connection with — a dog that will jump into their lap or at least seek out attention. Shy dogs don’t show well. They take time to warm up and often spend much longer at the rescue. Flannel is definitely shy, but honestly, he is not a hard win. A few tasty treats and a little patience, and all of a sudden he is your friend. He has a very sweet disposition and a gentle way about him, but you can also see the playful, mischievous side. He is going to be such a fun dog, given the chance.Flannel does great with other dogs. He eats and kennels with them without issue. He doesn’t even mind waiting his turn to get treats. He would do well with another canine companion to show him the ropes and reassure him that there’s nothing scary going on. One of the volunteers went into the yard with him — armed with a pocket full of treats and a little patience — sat down, offered the treats, and in no time the little guy was taking them gently from her hand, putting his paws up on her lap, and letting her give him some quick pets.
