Notes from the organization

Moda (Italian) loosely translates in English to 'style', and this 42 lb, 1.5 year old, Akita mix has style down! Training style (as well as her good looks)! She knows all the commands - sit, shake, down, leave it, come, bring it, drop it and give. She is an absolute champ at walking on a leash, paying attention to the human walking her and following the leash wherever it leads her. If you're up to walk a block or miles, Moda will be by your side. If you want to sit on a patio and watch the world go by, Moda will lie at your feet and watch with you. She is smitten with humans and loves to look in your eyes while you talk to her. She will listen to all your stories or let you vent about your day. She also really loves chasing a ball, and knows to back away and wait for you to pick it up to throw again. She is happy to amuse herself with chew toys (no stuffies though) while you take care of the important things like making her dinner or working from home. Did we mention she is also tether trained? She is a professional snuggler and other than taking walks or playing ball, her other favorite thing to do is cuddle. Fully house trained and working on crate training, Moda will settle in her crate in just a few minutes and sleeps through the night. Moda can be a little fearful of other dogs in small spaces and it takes her a little time to warm up and trust other dogs, but she is getting more comfortable every day, currently living with her foster's resident dog and happy to take leash walks together. Whether you have an active lifestyle and need a walking/hiking pal, or are more comfortable keeping your circle small, Moda would love to be part of it all! Recently fully vetted, Moda is ready to find her forever family and ready to be your absolute best friend.
